What a Shopify 3PL actually does
A Shopify 3PL is a third-party logistics provider that stores your inventory and then picks, packs, and ships your orders as they come in through your Shopify store. Orders sync on their own, so you never touch a packing slip.
It’s not the same as Amazon FBA. FBA fulfills the orders you sell on Amazon and keeps your stock inside Amazon’s network. A Shopify 3PL ships your own store’s orders under your brand, in your packaging, with your tracking emails. And it’s a different job than fulfilling in-house: instead of renting warehouse space and hiring a pick-pack team, you hand the warehouse work to a partner and get your time back for the parts of the business only you can run.
