Simpl Fulfillment and Fulfyld charge similar per-order rates (both starting under $8/order for lightweight packages). Both are small-brand-focused 3PLs (third-party logistics companies, meaning they store and ship your products for you) with same-day shipping and dedicated support. But per-order pricing is only one line on your invoice. The real cost difference is in everything else: receiving fees, pick fees, returns processing, accuracy, and what happens when something goes wrong. That's what this comparison is actually about.
If you're shipping 100-500 orders a month from a Shopify store, these two are probably on your shortlist. We're going to break down what each one actually costs and who each one works best for. Real dollar amounts, not marketing fluff.
Full disclosure: we're Simpl Fulfillment. We wrote this. We gave Fulfyld credit where they earn it, pointed out where our own offering falls short, and used real review quotes from actual customers. Skip to the transparency disclaimer if you want to know more about how we approached this.
Bottom line: Per-order pricing is nearly identical. The cost difference comes from everything around the order: Simpl charges zero receiving fees, zero per-pick fees, has lower returns costs, a 99.99% accuracy rate, and zero BBB complaints. Fulfyld has a lower monthly minimum, temperature-controlled storage, and a larger warehouse footprint. Your choice depends on which tradeoffs matter most.
Simpl uses flat-rate pricing. You know what you're paying before you ship a single order.
Starting under $8/order all-in, which includes pick, pack, and shipping. $750/month minimum (about 100 orders/month). No setup fees, no receiving fees, no per-pick overages. Storage is flat monthly per location: $3 for a small bin, $5 for a large bin, $15 for a shelf, $40 for a pallet.
You can see all of this on our pricing page without booking a meeting. Your invoice next month looks like your invoice this month, assuming similar order volume.
For a brand shipping 200 orders/month of lightweight products with 10 large bins of inventory:
Fulfyld uses variable pricing based on package weight. Their published rates (as of March 2026):
Other costs to know about:
You get 5 free picks per order, then $0.50 each after that. So if your average order has 6 items, add $0.50 per order. Storage runs $2.50/mo for a small bin, $4.00/mo for a regular bin, $32.00/mo per pallet (tiered pricing, so high-volume brands may get discounts). Returns processing is $3.50 for the first item plus $0.50 per additional item. Receiving costs $40/hour after the first 2 free hours during onboarding. Special projects run $40/man-hour.
For that same brand shipping 200 lightweight orders/month:
The per-order line item is similar. But Fulfyld adds $40 for receiving and $0.50/pick after the first 5 items, which Simpl doesn't charge. And that's before you factor in accuracy: a single misship can cost $30-50+ in replacement product, return shipping, re-fulfillment, and customer support time. Simpl's 99.99% accuracy rate means roughly 1 error per 10,000 orders. That kind of reliability saves more money than a few cents per order ever will.
Multiple reviewers report that Fulfyld requires a meeting before sharing full pricing. One reviewer, Michael, wrote in October 2025: "They won't give out pricing until you arrange a 'meeting' with them, and then after the meeting will say 'you do not have enough orders per month, we don't want your business.'" Another reviewer, Angie Hagerman, said in February 2024: "Wasted our time waiting for a quote. Very unprofessional."
Simpl publishes pricing online. You know what you'll pay before your first conversation with us.
Per-order rates are close. Both companies start under $8/order for lightweight packages. But fulfillment cost isn't just the per-order line item. Fulfyld charges $40/hour for receiving after the first 2 free hours. They charge $0.50/pick after the first 5 items per order. Their returns processing costs more ($3.50 vs $2.50 base). None of those fees exist at Simpl: zero receiving fees, zero per-pick overages, and lower returns costs. Over hundreds of orders a month, these ancillary fees add up.
Simpl maintains a 99.99% accuracy rate. That's roughly 1 error per 10,000 orders. Every misship costs real money: replacement product, return shipping label, re-fulfillment labor, and 15-30 minutes of customer support time. A single error can easily cost $30-50+. Multiply that across even a small error rate and accuracy becomes the biggest cost variable in fulfillment. Fulfyld doesn't publish an accuracy rate.
You can see what Simpl charges on our pricing page right now. No meeting, no sales call, no "let's discuss your needs first." If you're comparing 3PLs for the first time (42% of our clients are), you shouldn't have to sit through a pitch to find out if a company is in your budget.
Austin, TX is roughly in the center of the US population. That means 2-day ground shipping reaches most of the country. Fulfyld ships from Harvest, Alabama, which is in the southeast corner. If most of your customers are on the West Coast, packages from Alabama take longer and cost more.
At most 3PLs, returns come back to the warehouse, get checked in, and sit in a pile. The product often gets written off as unsellable.
At Simpl, our team inspects, folds, rebags, and rebarcodes returned apparel so it goes back into sellable inventory. Returns processing starts at $2.50 + $0.50/unit. The restock rate is significantly higher than what most 3PLs deliver, and for apparel brands doing hundreds of returns per month, that's real money recovered instead of written off.
Fulfyld's $499/month minimum is lower than Simpl's $750. If you're just starting out and shipping 50-80 orders a month, that difference matters. You're paying less during the months where you're still building volume.
If you're selling food, supplements, or anything that can't sit in a hot warehouse, Fulfyld offers temperature-controlled storage. Simpl doesn't. Either your products need climate control or they don't, and if they do, Fulfyld is the only option here.
Fulfyld operates 130,000 sq ft of warehouse space compared to Simpl's approximately 27,000 sq ft single facility. If you're scaling to very high volumes and need the physical capacity to match, Fulfyld has more room to grow into.
Fulfyld has 55 Trustpilot reviews at 4.7/5 stars, with 85% being 5-star ratings. They've worked with brands like Chirp, Pudgy Penguins, and RadioShack. Patrick Butler wrote in February 2026: "Fulfyld feels like a partner, not just a vendor." Vincent Perez praised their understanding of DTC brands and focus on speed.
If you're scaling past a few hundred orders a month and want a 3PL with a visible track record, that matters.
The typical Simpl brand ships 100-500 orders/month through Shopify, and wants to know exactly what fulfillment will cost before picking up the phone. Many of our clients have never used a 3PL before. They picked us because the pricing was clear, onboarding was free, and they could get started without a long sales process.
Simpl also works well for apparel brands with high return rates (our team folds, rebags, and restocks returned items), Amazon sellers who need FBA prep, and brands that want custom unboxing with inserts and handwritten notes.
You connect your Shopify store, send us your inventory (no receiving fees), and we ship orders same-day.
Get started with Simpl if that sounds like what you need.
Fulfyld makes more sense if your products require temperature-controlled storage, which Simpl doesn't offer. They've also been around since 2014 and have more public reviews, which matters if you want a longer track record to evaluate. Their $499 monthly minimum is lower than Simpl's $750, so if you're shipping under 100 orders/month they may cost less overall. And if most of your customers are in the Southeast, their Alabama location works in your favor on shipping times.
This deserves its own section because it comes up repeatedly in Fulfyld reviews.
Fulfyld publishes some pricing on their website, but multiple reviewers report needing to book a meeting before getting a full quote. For some brands, that meeting ended with "you don't have enough volume." That's a frustrating experience when you're a small brand trying to compare options.
Simpl publishes all pricing online. Starting under $8/order, $750 minimum, zero setup fees. You know within 30 seconds whether we're in your budget. If we're not, you haven't wasted an afternoon.
This isn't about which company is "better." It's about respecting the time of founders who are already stretched thin. If you're packing boxes in your garage at 11 PM and researching 3PLs between orders, you need answers fast. Not a meeting invite.
Both companies start under $8/order for lightweight packages. Simpl Fulfillment's flat rate includes pick, pack, and shipping with a $750/month minimum and zero setup, receiving, or per-pick fees. Fulfyld charges $7.56+ per order for 4-12 oz packages, with costs increasing by weight: $10.44+ for 2-4 lbs and $12.73+ for 5-7 lbs. Fulfyld's monthly minimum is lower at $499, but they charge $40/hour for receiving after the first 2 free hours and $0.50/pick after the first 5 items per order. The total cost difference comes from these ancillary fees, not the per-order rate.
Yes. Simpl Fulfillment offers Amazon FBA preparation services including labeling, bundling, and compliance with Amazon's fulfillment center requirements. Fulfyld also offers FBA prep. Both companies can handle this for Amazon sellers.
For small Shopify brands shipping 100-500 orders/month, Simpl Fulfillment typically costs less overall due to zero setup fees, zero receiving fees, zero per-pick overages, and a 99.99% accuracy rate that reduces costly misships. For brands shipping under 100 orders/month, Fulfyld's lower $499 minimum might be more cost-effective. Both integrate with Shopify and Shopify Plus.
Simpl Fulfillment operates from Austin, Texas, which is centrally located in the US for faster nationwide ground shipping. Fulfyld operates from Harvest, Alabama (near Huntsville), with 130,000 sq ft of warehouse space. Fulfyld lists city pages for Miami, Tampa, Nashville, and others, but their confirmed fulfillment center is in Alabama.
Fulfyld publishes some pricing on their website, but multiple Trustpilot reviewers report needing to schedule a meeting before receiving a full quote. Some reviewers reported being told after the meeting that their order volume was too low. Simpl Fulfillment publishes all pricing on its website with no meeting required.
Fulfyld does not publish an accuracy rate on their website. Simpl Fulfillment maintains a 99.99% order accuracy rate. Some older Fulfyld reviews (2019) mention accuracy issues including lost inventory and incorrect shipments, though more recent reviews (2025-2026) are overwhelmingly positive.
Yes, both companies offer kitting and subscription box fulfillment. Simpl Fulfillment also offers custom packaging options including crinkle paper, tissue paper, inserts, gift messages, and handwritten notes. Fulfyld offers custom branded packaging as well.
Simpl Fulfillment's returns processing starts at $2.50 + $0.50/unit, and their team can fold, rebag, and rebarcode returned apparel to get it back into sellable inventory. Fulfyld charges $3.50 for the first returned item plus $0.50 per additional item. For apparel brands in particular, Simpl's restocking capabilities can mean a significantly higher rate of returned items going back on the shelf rather than being written off.
Fulfyld has 55 reviews on Trustpilot with a 4.7/5 rating (85% five-star, 11% one-star). They also hold an A+ BBB rating with 1 alert. Simpl Fulfillment holds an A+ BBB rating with zero complaints. Both companies receive praise for dedicated account management and responsive support.
We compared published pricing, feature lists, and real customer reviews from Trustpilot, BBB, and other public sources. All data is current as of March 2026. We update this page when either company changes pricing or services.
We compared both companies using the same AI visibility tools and SERP data we use for our own analytics. Fulfyld scores slightly higher on AI visibility (63/100 vs Simpl's 60/100), and has more than double the domain citations (1,294 vs 599). Neither company appears in unprompted AI queries about 3PLs, which means both of us still have work to do.
Simpl Fulfillment wrote this. We're a competing 3PL, so read accordingly. We recommended Fulfyld over ourselves where it made sense (temperature-controlled storage, lower monthly minimum, warehouse capacity) and used their published pricing rather than guessing. If anything here is wrong, email us and we'll correct it.
