So here's the short version up front: Simpl Fulfillment is a different company, with no connection to SIMPL Automation or Home Depot.
What is Simpl Fulfillment?
Simpl Fulfillment is an ecommerce 3PL based in Austin, Texas. Barrett Shepherd founded the company in 2016. We pick, pack, and ship direct-to-consumer orders same-day, with flat-rate pricing starting at $7/order that covers picks, packaging, and postage. There is a $750 monthly minimum, billed pay-the-difference: if a month's order billing comes in under $750, you pay only the gap. That's about 100 shipments a month at the lightest weight (0.5 lb or under). Heavier shipments cost more each, so it takes fewer of them to reach $750. Beyond core order fulfillment, we handle Amazon FBA prep, kitting and assembly, returns, and subscription-box fulfillment. We are a fulfillment operator, not a robotics or hardware company.
What is SIMPL Automation?
SIMPL Automation is a warehouse robotics company based in Waltham, Massachusetts. Home Depot acquired it in April 2026. It builds automation hardware for warehouses, which is a different business in a different state from ours. We have never operated under that name and are not connected to it.
No Connection Between the Two Companies
Simpl Fulfillment and SIMPL Automation are separate, unrelated companies. Simpl Fulfillment is independently owned and was founded by Barrett Shepherd in 2016. We were not acquired by Home Depot, and we have no ownership, partnership, or business relationship with SIMPL Automation. The similar names are a coincidence.
