Every TikTok Shop sale has to get picked, packed, and shipped. TikTok gives sellers three ways to do it, and the one you pick shapes how much you pay and how much control you keep.
Fulfilled by TikTok (FBT). You ship inventory into TikTok’s warehouses. TikTok stores it, then picks, packs, and ships each order when it sells.
TikTok Shipping. You keep and pack your own inventory, but you buy shipping labels through TikTok at the platform’s negotiated rates. It’s a middle ground: you hold the stock, TikTok handles the postage.
Seller Shipping. You handle storage, packing, and shipping yourself, in-house or through a third-party logistics provider (3PL). You print your own labels and choose your own carriers.
Most sellers start on one method and switch as volume grows. The right choice depends on how many channels you sell across, how much control you want over packaging, and how your inventory is split.
FBT is TikTok’s in-house fulfillment program. You send stock to TikTok’s facilities, and TikTok takes over from there: storage, picking, packing, shipping, and most customer returns. Orders fulfilled this way can qualify for faster-shipping treatment on the platform, which helps with conversion.
The tradeoff is control. Your inventory sits inside TikTok’s network and ships only TikTok Shop orders, so stock you send to FBT can’t fill a sale from your Shopify store or Amazon listing. Packaging follows TikTok’s standard, not your brand’s. And you pay TikTok’s storage and fulfillment fees, which vary by item size and weight, on top of selling on the platform.
For a seller whose whole business runs on TikTok, that can be a fair trade. For a brand selling across several channels, it often isn’t.
FBT makes sense when TikTok Shop is your main channel and you’re fine handing off packaging and returns. It starts to break down when:
When the same SKU sells on TikTok, Shopify, and Amazon, splitting stock across separate fulfillment pools means guessing how much to send where. Guess wrong and you oversell one channel while units sit idle in another.
A third-party 3PL solves the split. You store one pool of inventory in one place, and the 3PL ships every order from the same shelf: TikTok Shop, Shopify, Amazon, your own site. You keep your branding, your carrier mix, and a single source of truth for stock.
Simpl Fulfillment is a D2C 3PL in Austin, TX. We connect to your TikTok Shop store, pull orders in automatically, and keep your inventory counts current in real time so you’re not overselling across channels.
Orders that come in before 12pm CT ship the same day. We pick, pack, and ship from one inventory pool that also fills your Shopify, Amazon, and other-channel orders, so you don’t have to decide in advance how much stock to lock into any one platform. Branded packaging, kitting, and FBA prep are all on the table.
Pricing starts at $7/order, which includes three picks, postage, and packaging. There’s a $750/month minimum, billed pay-the-difference, so you’re charged the gap only if a month’s orders come in under $750. We ship via UPS, USPS, and FedEx, and the carrier is included in that per-order rate.
Onboarding runs 5 to 7 days, and once your inventory lands, receiving takes 1 to 3 days. Returns come back through a branded portal included for every client, so a TikTok customer sending something back stays inside your brand’s experience instead of TikTok’s.
We pick orders at a 99.99% accuracy rate, and when we make a mistake, we fix it at our cost. Every client gets a dedicated account manager reachable by email, with same-day responses. We run fulfillment for brands shipping 50 orders a month and brands shipping 5,000-plus, at the same price per order either way.
FBT is TikTok’s own fulfillment service. You send inventory to TikTok’s warehouses, and TikTok stores, picks, packs, and ships your orders, plus handles most returns. It only fills TikTok Shop orders, so inventory you send to FBT can’t ship sales from your other channels.
Yes. TikTok Shop’s Seller Shipping method lets you fulfill orders yourself or through a 3PL. A 3PL like Simpl connects to your TikTok Shop store, receives orders automatically, and ships them alongside your Shopify and Amazon orders from one inventory pool.
With FBT, you pay TikTok’s storage and per-order fulfillment fees, which vary by item size and weight. With a 3PL, you pay a per-order rate instead. Simpl starts at $7/order, with three picks, postage, and packaging included, and a $750/month minimum.
No. FBT is optional. You can run Seller Shipping and keep fulfillment in-house or hand it to a 3PL, keeping your own packaging, carriers, and one inventory pool across every channel you sell on.
