What to Check Before You Hand Off Beauty Inventory
Heat and storage temperature
Our Austin warehouse is ambient only. We don't have refrigerated or climate-controlled space, and we don't publish a temperature or humidity range. That works for products formulated to sit on a shelf at room temperature. It doesn't work for everything: FDA notes that heat can break down preservatives, and that temperature changes and sunlight can change a product's color and texture. Check your formulator's stability testing and the storage directions on your label. If a product needs to be kept cool or refrigerated, we're not the right warehouse for it. If another 3PL offers controlled storage, ask how the space is monitored.
Glass, droppers and pumps
Glass bottles, droppers, pumps and pressed powders need the most packing thought. Send liquids sealed (shrink bands or induction seals help with leaks), and flag your glass and liquid SKUs before your first inbound so we can agree how each one is packed when you get a quote. Expiration dates and batches
US law doesn't require expiration dates on most cosmetics, and FDA treats setting a product's shelf life as the manufacturer's job. Products that are also drugs, such as sunscreen, follow drug rules: FDA requires sunscreen to carry an expiration date unless stability testing shows it stays stable for at least three years. If you sell dated products, or want to know which batch went to which customer if there's ever a recall, ask any 3PL how it handles that before you sign. Some warehouses pick first-expired, first-out (FEFO), which means the units that expire soonest ship first. Tell us what your catalog needs when you get a quote.
Fragrance and nail polish
Alcohol-based fragrance and solvent-based nail polish can be classed as flammable liquids, and when they are, USPS rules generally keep them off domestic air: they travel by ground as a Limited Quantity, packed to USPS requirements, and liquids with a flashpoint at or below 20°F can't be mailed at all. Ethanol-based products can fly only with prior written USPS authorization. So check how your formulas are classed, plan on ground transit for any that are flammable, and don't promise next-day air on them at checkout. We accept hazmat items; see hazmat fulfillment and confirm your specific products when you get a quote.
Shades and variants
Long shade ranges make it easy to pick the wrong variant. Give every shade and size its own SKU and barcode before your first inbound, keep variant names distinct, and ask any 3PL what it does when it ships the wrong one.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you store beauty products in a climate-controlled warehouse?
No. Our Austin warehouse is ambient only: no refrigeration and no climate control, and we don't publish a temperature or humidity range. That suits products formulated to be stored at room temperature. If your formulator's stability testing or storage directions call for cool or refrigerated storage, we're not the right fit for that product.
What beauty products do you fulfill?
Skincare, makeup, haircare, fragrance, nail products, tools and gift sets, as long as they arrive sealed and ready to sell and don't need cold storage. Fragrance and nail polish come with shipping limits, covered in the next answer.
Can you ship perfume and nail polish?
Usually, yes. We accept hazmat items, but the details depend on the product, so confirm each fragrance or polish SKU when you get a quote. Fragrance and polish formulas that are classed as flammable liquids generally can't go by USPS domestic air (ethanol-based products need prior written USPS authorization), so expect those to travel by ground.
Do you track lot numbers and expiration dates?
Raise it when you get a quote. Tell us which products carry expiration dates or lot codes and what you need, such as the soonest-expiring stock shipping first or a record of which batch went to which customer, and we'll tell you what we can do for your catalog before you sign. It matters most for products that are also over-the-counter drugs, like sunscreen, which needs an expiration date unless stability testing supports at least three years.
How much does beauty fulfillment cost?
Pricing starts at $7/order. That flat per-order rate includes picks (up to three), packing, postage and packaging; carrier surcharges, when they apply, are billed per our terms. Storage is billed by the space you use: small bin, large bin, shelf or pallet. Your quote depends on order volume, package weight and SKU count.
Is there a monthly minimum?
Standard ecommerce fulfillment accounts have a $750 monthly minimum, billed pay-the-difference: if a month's order billing comes in under $750, we bill the shortfall so order billing reaches $750; storage is billed separately. That's roughly 90–100 orders a month for light packages on standard shipping; heavier, larger or faster shipments reach it with fewer orders. If you're well below that, packing orders yourself for now is often the cheaper option.
Are you FDA-registered, and who handles cosmetics compliance?
We're not FDA-registered as a food facility, and ingredient and labeling compliance stays with your brand. We store and ship your sealed, finished goods; you own formulation, labels and product claims. Whether MoCRA's facility registration and product listing rules apply to your brand, including its small-business and drug-product exemptions, is a question for your regulatory adviser.
