ShipBob vs Flexport (Formerly Deliverr): Which 3PL Fits Your Brand

Deliverr has been part of Flexport since 2023, so this is really ShipBob vs Flexport: where each one ships from, how fast, what it costs to start, and where Simpl fits.

Deliverr isn't a separate 3PL anymore, so a ShipBob vs Deliverr comparison today is really ShipBob vs Flexport. Shopify bought Deliverr in July 2022, in a deal it valued at about $2.1 billion. In May 2023, Flexport announced it was "acquiring the assets of Shopify Logistics, including Deliverr", and typing deliverr.com into a browser now lands you on flexport.com. The service is sold today as Flexport eCommerce Fulfillment.

Flexport fits brands that sell through a lot of channels, or that import their own product and want freight and fulfillment from one company. ShipBob has a monthly spend and order minimum, and its own page frames a thousand orders a month as a starting point, so ask about that early. ShipBob quotes each account individually, and Flexport's fulfillment page lists no prices, so plan on getting a written quote from each. If you want the longer story of how Shopify's own fulfillment network ended up with Flexport, our guide to fulfillment by Shopify covers it.

Which one fits your brand

Flexport pitches its service at brands that sell in a lot of places. Its fulfillment page says the service is "designed for brands that sell on marketplaces like Amazon, Shopify, and over 50 other online platforms". It also fits if you import your own product, because Flexport sells freight forwarding, customs brokerage and fulfillment as one company.

If you need inventory outside the US, both can hold it now, in different countries. ShipBob lists fulfillment centers in Canada, the UK, Australia and Europe. Flexport announced fulfillment services in Mississauga, Canada and Manchester, England on September 2, 2026. Ask each one which of its locations can take your inventory today.

Before you get far with ShipBob, ask about the minimum. Its own page says "there is a minimum monthly spending requirement for fulfillment and minimum order volume requirements" and that "you can start with even just a thousand orders monthly". For ShipBob's fee categories in more detail, see our ShipBob pricing breakdown and ShipBob review.

If you're a founder still packing orders yourself, the practical problem is the same with both. You'll be comparing quotes rather than rate cards, so get each one in writing and hold it up against the questions below.

Where Simpl fits

Simpl Fulfillment is a 3PL in Austin, TX, built for founder-led ecommerce brands, and we publish our pricing. Fulfillment starts at $7 per order, and the per-order price covers picking, packing, packaging and postage. Standard ecommerce fulfillment accounts have a $750 monthly minimum, billed pay-the-difference: if a month's orders bill under $750, you pay only the gap. That works out to roughly 90–100 orders a month for light packages on standard shipping; heavier, larger or faster shipments reach it with fewer orders. An account that only uses Amazon FBA prep has a 1,000-unit monthly minimum instead.

Orders that come in before 12pm CT ship the same day by UPS, USPS or FedEx. Onboarding takes 5–7 days, and there's no onboarding fee. Every client gets a dedicated account manager, reachable by email, with same-day responses. We connect natively to Shopify, Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, WooCommerce and Squarespace, and to Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Etsy and TikTok Shop.

Simpl ships everything from one warehouse in Austin. If you need stock held outside the US, ShipBob and Flexport both have locations abroad, in the countries the table lists. If you want your freight and your fulfillment handled by one company, that's Flexport.

Questions to ask on any 3PL quote

  • What is the monthly minimum in dollars, and how many orders does it take to clear it?
  • How is receiving billed: by the hour, the pallet or the unit?
  • What unit is storage billed by (bin, shelf or pallet), and is it prorated?
  • Is postage passed through at cost, or marked up?
  • What does it cost to process a return?
  • If you leave, how much notice do you give, and how long do you have to move inventory out?

If you run a Shopify store and want a number before a sales call, start with Simpl's pricing or our Shopify fulfillment page, then get a quote. Already ruled ShipBob out? Our list of ShipBob alternatives compares other options. Simpl Fulfillment is a 3PL too, so weigh the Simpl section with that in mind; everything above about ShipBob and Flexport comes from their own pages, listed below.
