Step 1:

To put your Shopify store on hold, the first step is to log into your account using valid credentials. Once you have logged in, go to the Settings option on the Admin panel and proceed to the Account page to make the desired changes.

Step 2: 

Go to the ‘Store Status panel’ present at the bottom of the Account page and click on the ‘Pause Store’ button. 

Step 3:

You will get a notification on the screen providing you with information relating to verifying payment information. Once you see the notification, click on the ‘Pause Store’ option.

Step 4:

When you want to resume your Shopify store again, you need to head to ‘Settings,’ then ‘Account,’ and finally ‘Compare Plans.’ Once you select the desired new plan and confirm the payment, you are ready to start your Shopify store again. 

Reminders for Putting the Shopify Store on Hold 

Before you put your Shopify store on hold, there are several factors that you need to keep in mind. Let’s take a look!

  • If you have received funds via Shopify Capital, putting your store on hold will affect the Capital advances. 
  • Uninstall any third-party apps with recurring charges to avoid getting billed while your store is on hold.
  • The Pause and Build plan is not available for the Shopify Plus stores.
